Billie Arthur Brasfield

Billie Arthur Brasfield, 64, of Monette, former longtime Leachville resident, passed from this life Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Arkansas Continued Care Hospital in Jonesboro. Born at the Fort Chaffee Army Base near Fort Smith, Billie had lived most of his life in Leachville before moving to Monette in 2007. He was the son of the late Arthur Brasfield and Lizzie King Barnes and had attended Leachville Public Schools. Billie always enjoyed church and had attended several area churches over the years. He had most recently been active at the Monette Assembly of God. Billie loved riding his bicycle and dancing, but most of all Billie loved people. Billie was also preceded in death his stepfather who raised him, J. L. Barnes, a brother, Jerry Mack Brasfield, and a sister, Glinda Dunken.

Survivors include three brothers, James Brasfield (Cynthia) of Paragould, Bobby Brasfield (Paula) of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Clifford Brasfield of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Bertha Ray (Tommy) of Monette and Mary Goad (William) of Bradford; two stepsisters, Shirley Payton and Donna Barnes, both of Paragould. He also leaves his nephews, Tony, Eric, John, and J.J.; nieces, Misti, Crystal, Pam, and Amanda; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. 

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 18, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Rodney Presley and Rev. Bobby Austin officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Friday from 11 a.m. until service time. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.HowardFuneralService.com.
