New fire truck arrives

Saturday, June 5, 2021

The Blytheville Fire Department received their new Freightliner tanker truck June 1. Chief Mike Carney detailed features of the new truck to the Mayor James Sanders and members of the city council on the following day. The tanker can hold up to 3,000 gallons of water and disperse the full amount in just minutes. Along with a host of other features, the tank dump will serve as a great benefit. This allows the Blytheville Fire Department to collaborate with other local departments in a more efficient and effective way. Pictured are (from left) Carney, Sanders, city of Blytheville CFO John Callens and council members Vera James, Barbara Brothers and Matt Perrin.
