Jimmy Joe Jackson, 85, of North Little Rock, former Blytheville resident, passed from this life Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at St. Vincent Health Systems Infirmary in Little Rock. Born at Portia, he was the son of the late Hershel and Mary Moore Jackson and had been a longtime Blytheville area resident before making his home in North Little Rock in 2017. Jim was a 1953 graduate of Blytheville High School and attended Hendrix College and Arkansas State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War era and worked for 40 years for Associated Natural Gas, formerly Ark-Mo Power, retiring in 1997. Jim enjoyed traveling and playing golf, and was an avid Arkansas Razorback sports fan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Blytheville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Lee Jackson, and three brothers, Bill Jackson, Bob Jackson and Jack Jackson.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Linda Donner Jackson; two sons, Adam Jackson (Alice Ann) of North Little Rock and Scott Jackson (Martha) of Sherwood; one daughter, Becky Smart (Jim) of Blytheville. He also leaves five grandchildren, William Jackson, Chris Jackson, Thomas Jackson, Lucy Jackson and Lindsey McNair.
