Mike Rustin

Mike Rustin, 70, of Blytheville, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at his home.

Mike was born in Blytheville to William and Bessie Webster Rustin and was a retired aircraft mechanic. He previously worked for the Blytheville Fire Department. While on the Fire Department his nickname was “the kid.” Mike served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Persian Gulf War and was also a Navy Seal. Mike enjoyed the outdoors and loved working in his yard and gardening. He loved tinkering with things that needed fixing, especially cars. He liked to watch the History channel and learning anything new that he could. Mike loved his family and his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mike leaves his wife, Marie Kelley Rustin of the home; two children, Brittney Porter and her husband Andrew of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Timothy Pollard and his wife Alicia of Paragould; one sister, Shirley Jo Weinrich of Newbern, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Colton Pollard, Sydney Pollard, Paige Smithpeter and Genesis Porter; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 13, at 10 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby McDaniel and Rev. Ezeriah Gorley officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 80 people will be allowed to gather inside of Cobb Funeral Home and practice social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance between one another. Face masks are required to enter the building and to be worn at all times.
