Sandra Luann Sparks

Sandra Luann Sparks, 66, of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, March 4, 2021, at her home. Born in Caraway, she was the daughter of the late Edward "Bud" Sparks and Billie Little Whitlow and was raised in the Milligan Ridge Community. A lifelong Manila area resident, Sandra was a 1972 graduate of Manila High School and later received an associate degree from Mississippi County Community College in Blytheville. She worked for many years as a career placement advisor for Workforce Services in Jonesboro and West Memphis before retiring in 2019. She was an active member of the Manila Business and Professional Women's Club, a volunteer for the Manila Food Pantry, and worked tirelessly providing hygiene supplies for area high school students. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed many cruises over the years. Sandra was a member of the First Assembly of God in Manila. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Sparks, in 1985.

Survivors include one daughter, Shonda Wortham (Steven) of Lake City; one brother, Rick Sparks (Dianne) of Manila. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral service was 2 p.m. Saturday, March 6, in the Manila Cemetery with Rev. James Chipman officiating. Burial was under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family received visitors from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
