Betty Jean (Dalton) Washington

Tuesday, February 2, 2021

In loving memory of Betty Jean (Dalton) Washington. It is with deepest sadness that you left us too soon. Our hearts are hurting but joyful because we know you are with God. Thank you for the abundance of love you always shown to all of us and letting us know each time we talked. You are so loved and will be missed very deeply. Knowing that God has opened the pearly gate and welcomed another beautiful Angel in Heaven makes us rejoiceful and true believers HE has done what he said He would do, just because you lived your life diligently based on His words.

Mrs. Betty Jean (Dalton) Washington daughter of the late Leroy and Corine Dalton was born Aug. 2, 1960, in Crawfordville. She attended public schools in Blytheville and worked as a receptionist for the Blytheville Police Department and other jobs within the Blytheville community before leaving to take a position in early childhood development, in Oakland, Calif. At an early age she professed her life in Christ and joined Morning Star Baptist Church and later West End Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member. She served faithfully, before making Oakland, Calif., her residence and where she met her husband, David Washington.

She was united in holy matrimony to David Washington in May of 2005. This union was blessed with one step daughter and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Washington was an active member in the Morning Star and Westend Baptist Churches both of Blytheville before leaving to make her home in Oakland, Calif.

As a result of her beautiful/generous spirit and pleasant personality she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the smile she was blessed with. And her influence and personality will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, in her Oakland, Calif., home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Washington, and stepdaughter, Mykisha Washington.

Her beautiful life will ever be cherished in the lives of her family: Helen Jean Mitchell (Andrew), Blytheville, Bertha Mae Shannon (Aaron), Jonesboro, Allen Dalton (Barbara), Blytheville, Mary Lee Dalton (Jesse), Springfield, Vir., and Rose Marie Dalton, Blytheville, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

REST IN PEACE OUR BELOVED WIFE, MOTHER, SISTER, AND FRIEND FOR ONE DAY WE SHALL MEET AGAIN.
