Johnny Gene Higgins, Sr. 84, of Obion, Tenn., passed away Jan. 26, 2021, at his home. He was a retired lifelong owner of H&S, Inc., he loved watching Nascar, working on cars and spending time with his family. He was a giver. Mr. Higgins was born Aug. 14, 1936, in Delaware, Ark., to Ike and Faye Cox Higgins, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack Higgins, L.V. Higgins and Tommy Higgins; three sisters, Bobbie Farris, Curly Laster and Patsy McKay; and one grandson, Joshua Higgins.

He is survived by his wife, Mercedes Higgins of Obion, Tenn.; one son, Johnny Gene Higgins, Jr. of Obion, Tenn.; three daughters, Rhonda (Randall) Dickson of Blytheville, Sheila (Shane) Still and Donna (Roderick Lambert) Higgins of Gosnell; three stepchildren, Ernest Reasons of Dyersburg, Tenn., Tony Reasons of Obion, Tenn., and Lisa Smith of Abilene, Texas; mother of his children, Myrtle Higgins of Gosnell; one brother, Ike Higgins, Jr. of Huffman; two sisters, Paulette Stanley of Conway and Sharon Stanley of Gary, Ind.; 13 grandchildren, Ricky, Randall, Ronnie, John, Stephen, Heather, Scott, Kyle, Tracy, LouJeana, Robin, Tasha and Denise; 19 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 28, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. The funeral will be Friday, Jan. 29, at 12:00 noon at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville with Bro. Mike Welch officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge.
