Rutha Mae Staten Brown

Rutha Mae Staten Brown was born July 4, 1951, to the late Andrew and Eva Staten in Lake Cormorant, Miss. Rutha departed this life Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 69. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Eva Staten; her sister, Leslie Boyce; her brother, Andrew Staten Jr.; her son, Robert Earl Alexander Jr.; and her granddaughter, Alicia Alexander.

Rutha worked for over 30 years at American Greetings, she retired from Osceola School District. She was a member of Zion Chapel M.B. Church.

Rutha’s legacy, life, and love will forever be treasured in the hearts of her husband, Hubert Brown of Osceola; two daughters, Eva Alexander and Ruthie Alexander a special daughter, Minnie Alexander, all of Osceola; her brother, Albert Staten of Blytheville; a special sister, Agnes Staten of Horn Lake, Miss.; her caretaker and oldest granddaughter; Regina Wilson of Jonesboro; three stepdaughters, Maree Anderson and Kendra Brown, both of Gosnell, and Trina Brown of Osceola; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, at Zion Chapel M.B. Church in Luxora, from 12 (noon) until 12:55 p.m. Service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette after services.
