James Wayne Walker, 79, of Senath, passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at his home. Born in Melrose Park, Ill., he was the son of the late William and Mildred Seegras Walker and had been a longtime resident of Southeast Missouri. He was retired from the LA Darling Company in Paragould with 32 years in the maintenance department. He was also the owner operator of Walker Bail Bonds in Kennett for over 28 years. He was a member of the Saints and Sinners RC Club as well as the First Assembly of God Church in Leachville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Dexter Milligan, and one brother, Dennis Walker.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, LaVonda Gooch Walker of the home; four sons, Troy Walker (Gisela) of Paragould, Ernie Whitworth (Debbie) of Warrenville, Ill., Bryan Whitworth (Rise) of Kennett and Michael Walls (Amber) of Senath; three daughters, Joanne Walker of Campbell, Mo., Crystal Brooks (Josh) of Gosnell and Zina Schneider (Mark) of Somonauk, Ill.; three sisters, Sharon Breslin of Daytona, Fla., Diane Chicoine of Phoenix, Ariz., Penny Christianson of St. Cloud, Fla. He also leaves 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Tom Newman officiating. Burial will follow in the Leachville Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Troy Walker, Michael Walls, Vylan Walls, Chase Moseley, Bren Palmer and Josh Brooks. The family will receive visitors Monday from noon until service time. In compliance with the state's directive regarding COVID-19, attendance will be limited and face masks and social distancing will be required inside the funeral home at all times.
