Ira Joe Dabney, Sr.

Ira Joe Dabney, Sr. of Blytheville was born Dec. 10, 1954, in Driver to the late Lonnie Dabney, Sr. and the late Dorothy Parker Dabney. He was a factory worker and a member of New Mt. Olive M.B. Church. Mr. Dabney passed away Dec. 31, 2020, at his home in Blytheville at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Dabney, Sr., his mother, Dorothy Parker Dabney, and his wife, Patricia Dabney.

He is survived by three sons, Ira Dabney, Jr. of Levell, Texas, Emmanuel “Tangie” Dabney of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Patrick Dabney of Blytheville; one daughter, Bridgette “Eddie” Rodgers of Jonesboro; two brothers, Carl Dabney of Memphis, Tenn., and Lonnie “Carolyn” Dabney , Jr. of Tyronza; one sister, Dorothy Benson of Gilmore; and one grandchild.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 7, from 10-11 a.m. at New Mt. Olive M.B. Church, with the funeral immediately following at 11 a.m. also at New Mt. Olive M.B. Church, Rev. Eddie Echols officiating. The burial will be held at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
