Wanda E. Carroll, 86, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020 at her home. She was born Dec. 21, 1934, in Black Oak to the late Jim Bob and Lela B. Carroll. She received her B.S. degree from UCA and a master’s in physical education from ASU. Wanda taught and coached for 49 years. She retired from Granite City, Ill. After retiring she became an avid golfer and helped with the ASU women’s golf team. She loved all her golfing friends and host of all her childhood friends from her hometown Black Oak. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her lifetime friend, Sharon McDonough; her cousins, Rick and Missy Meadows, Ashley and Bradley Meadows and Mike and Connie McDaniel, all of Jonesboro, Rava and Gerald Glidewell of Trumann, Thomas and Candy Depriest and Trey Depriest, all of Monette, and Carlean Evans and family of Manila, and a host of past students and friends.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be 12 p.m., noon, Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Monette Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Reed and Eddie Dunigan officiating. Interment will follow.

Lasting memorials may be sent to ASU women’s golf or UCA women’s golf.

Her family thanks everyone for their kindness but requests no visiting her home due to COVID.
