Shirley Whitehead Cole

Shirley Whitehead Cole, 65, of Lonoke, formerly Blytheville, passed away Dec. 15, 2020, at UAMS in Little Rock.

Shirley was born in Holland, Mo., to Marvin and Bertha Baugus Whitehead and was a graduate of Blytheville High School in 1973. She worked several factory jobs before retiring from Viscase. Shirley was known for her immaculate home and was always willing to open up her home to her family for their gatherings. Shirley had the kindest heart for people and would hurt when they hurt or would be happy if they were happy. She enjoyed working outside and gardening and was also an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shirley leaves her best friend and soulmate, Jimmy Cole, to whom she was married to for 47 long, loving years; her daughter, Kristy Curtright and her husband Justin of Cabot; brothers, Glen Whitehead and his wife Judy of Blytheville and Tony Whitehead and his wife Margarita of Middleville, Mich.; and several special sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 50 people will be allowed to gather inside of Cobb Funeral Home and practice social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance between one another. Face masks are required to enter the building and to be worn at all times.
