Janice Ruth Hall, 77 of Lake City, widow of Charles Marshall “Skip” Hall, passed from this life Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born at St. Louis, Mo., and raised at Leachville, she was the daughter of the late Opie Milton and Opal Wilson Russell and had been a resident of Lake City the past 22 years. She was a 1961 graduate of Leachville High School and attended Cotton Boll Vocational Technical College in Burdette where she earned a degree as a licensed practical nurse. She was employed as an emergency room receptionist at the Fort Leonard Wood Military Hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and retired from the former Lane Nursing Center of Monette in 2010 after over 15 years of service. She enjoyed working in her yard and flower beds, collecting anything with a cardinal and reading, but she especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jorena Ham, earlier this year.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Marshall Hall, III and wife Terri and Opie Russell Hall and wife Tammy, all of Lake City; one brother, Johnny Russell of Fredrick-town, Mo. She also leaves four grandchildren, Ashley (Aaron) Speaks, Kelsie (Chase) Clay, Cody (Lacey) Hall and Blake Hall; and one great-grandson, Liam Hall.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Leachville Cemetery with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Danny Ham, Aaron Speaks, Cody Hall and Blake Hall.
