Melvin Walters

Memorial services for Melvin Walters, 84, of Jefferson, Texas, formerly of Blytheville, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Seth Buckner officiating.

Mr. Walters was born Nov. 2, 1936, in Manila, to Pled Walters and Beulah Irby Walters and passed away in Longview, Texas, on Nov. 19, 2020.

Mr. Walters was a retired Army veteran that served in Vietnam and then went on to work at WalMart before retiring at the age of 80. Mr. Walters was a wonderful brother and uncle to us.

Mr. Walters is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert Vernon and Reginald Walters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Opal Wooldridge of Jefferson; sister, Brenda Cornelius and husband John of Jefferson; niece, Melissa Wooldridge; niece Stacy Wooldridge; nephew Michael Kell; great-nephew, Alex Armstrong; great-niece, Shelby Armstrong; as well as numerous extended family and friends.
