Helen Marie Ingram Payne

Helen Marie Ingram Payne, 70, of Blytheville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 5, 2020, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Helen was born in Blytheville to Oscar and Nellie Cole Ingram and was a graduate of Dell High School. Helen was the assistant director and cook at First Baptist Wee Care for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Helen was an excellent cook and she loved to bake. Family meant most to Helen and she enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Lou Jones; brothers, Junior Ingram, Bobby Gene Ingram, Clyde Jeffries and Buddy Jeffries.

Helen leaves her husband, Russell Payne of the home; five children, Heather Gomer and husband Daniel of Gosnell, Denise Glenn and husband Roger of Atlanta, Ga., Tammy Moore and Chuck Simmons of Sautee, Ga., Ashley Callendar and husband Stephen of Blytheville and Gary Payne and wife Tonia of Blytheville; four brothers, Joe Ingram and wife Regina of Blytheville, Roy Ingram and wife Cheryl of Blytheville, Glenn Ingram of Chicago, Ill., and Anthony Ingram and wife Debra of Dyersburg, Tenn.; three sisters, Elizabeth Jarrett of Gosnell, Geneva Okamura of Virginia and Bonnie Battle and Bill of Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Logan and Madison Gomer, Kayla Callendar, Trenia Payne, Trenton and Travis Glenn, Mallory Yopp and Ashley Moore; and two great-grandchildren, Aubrey Sims and Landen Strickland.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 2:30 p.m. in Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Mitchell King, Jr. officiating. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 100 people will be allowed to gather inside of Cobb Funeral Home and practice social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance between one another. Face masks were required to enter the building and worn at all times.
