Margaree Parker

Margaree Parker, 90, of Osceola passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020. She was born Jan. 19, 1930, in Crenshaw, Miss., to Jeffrey and Lillie (McKinley) Thompson. She retired as the manager of food service from the Osceola School System and she was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church of Osceola. She was also a member of Ebonette Society, NAACP, the American Legion, and was a former president of the Osceola PTA. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling and garage sales.

Survivors include son, James (Tracy) Parker of Columbus, Ohio; daughters, Margaret Gaskin of St. Louis, Mo., Maxine (Ester) Doolittle of Pine Bluff, Gloria Clark of Osceola and Phyllis Long of Little Rock; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Parker; sons, Clarence E. Parker and George E. Parker Sr.; daughter, Bobbie Joe Virgies; brothers, Charles Thompson and McHenry Thompson.

Visitation will be Nov. 7, Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Whiteside Cemetery.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitations attendance to 100 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.
