William Allen "Bill" Crowder

William Allen "Bill" Crowder, 62, of Blytheville, passed from this life Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at his home. Born and raised in Blytheville, he was a 1976 graduate of Blytheville High School and was in the ROTC program where he was the first cadet to achieve the rank of Lt. Colonel. Bill was a former employee of Nibco in Blytheville and retired in 2002 from the Blytheville Fire Department after 20 years where he served as assistant fire chief. He was a longtime member of the Arkansas Firefighters Association and enjoyed hunting. He was preceded in death by his father, William Walter "Bill" Crowder, his grandparents, W.E. and Alma Golden, and two stepsons.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Lucy McCain Crowder of the home; son, William Britten Crowder (Amber) of Jonesboro; two daughters, Kathleen Crowder of Jonesboro and Katie Ray (Jerry) of Myrtle, Miss.; mother, Gwendolyn Golden Crowder of Blytheville; sister, Dana Carson of Morrilton; nephew, Blake Elliott, and niece, Briah Callahan (Charles) all of Conway. He also leaves five grandchildren, three stepsons and three stepdaughters and beloved family friend and caregiver, Sherry Johnson (Scotty) of Tiptonville, Tenn.

Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Elmwood Cemetery in Blytheville with Rev. Zach Roberts officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family will receive visitors Monday evening from 6-8 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila.
