JP Jones, Jr. was born Jan. 18, 1947 in Blytheville, to JP Jones, Sr. and Dee Ella Johnson Jones.

He attended Richard B. Harrison High School and worked in construction.

J P was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Antonio Lacey; three sisters, Juanita Rogers, Martha Jefferson and Berna Jones; and his wife, Linda Robinson-Jones. On Monday, Oct. 12, 2020, JP passed away at Great River Medical Center at the age of 73.

JP leaves to forever cherish his memory six sons, Rodney “Tony” McKinney of Blytheville, Irwin (Sabrina) Jones of Memphis, Tenn., Julius Jones of Blytheville, JP Jones III of Blytheville, Dontario Jones, also of Blytheville, and Darius Birchett of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Chaquita (Gregory) Harris of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers, Ivory ( Bobbie) Jones of Benton Harbor, Mich., Glenn (Roberta) Jones of Clarkston, Mo., and Larry (Deborah) Jones, also of Benton Harbor, Mich.; five sisters, Bernice Sewell of Walkersville, Md., Essie Smith of Sherwood, Carlon (Willie) Henderson, Velma Jefferson and Virginia Mosley, all of Blytheville; 16 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

A walk-through visitation will be held Monday, Oct. 19, beginning at 11:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 South Lilly Street, Blytheville, where Reverend David Clark is the pastor. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.

In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions social distancing will be required. Face masks are mandated to attend the visitation and funeral services.
