Gosnell Junior High School seventh grader Kyleigh Hinson raised money to purchase 600 cans of food to donate to the school’s food drive. The school is collecting items such as box stuffing, canned yams, macaroni and cheese, canned cranberry sauce, canned chicken broth, cooking oil, boxed powdered milk, cornbread mix, canned corn, canned green beans, canned peas, instant potatoes, marshmallows, and aluminum foil. “I have always loved to donate and help other people since elementary,” Hinson said. “Each year I try to beat my last goal.” Her previous goal was 300; she participates in food drives each year. The items will go to Gosnell Baptist Church, which provides food boxes every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas. “It makes me feel amazing to know that I have helped so many people with the items I bring,” Hinson said.
