Charles “Bug” Abbott

Charles “Bug” Abbott, 82, of Osceola, passed away Sept. 28, 2020. He was born Jan. 1, 1938, in Blytheville, to Garrett L. and Frances E. Abbott. He was a retired agricultural pilot and served in the Vietnam War with the United States Marines. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Osceola, played football for the Arkansas Razorbacks in college and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Carrie “Sissy” Abbott; daughters, Lori (Boss) Manley of Martin, Tenn., and Lana (David) Hoke of Milan, Tenn.; grandchildren, Chase Manley, Page Alden, Haleigh (Preston) Wilson, Lauren Hoke, Harrison Hoke and Tiffany Hoke; great-grandchildren, Audrey Alden and Emarie Alden; brother, Fred (Faye) Abbott; and brothers-in-law, Wade Rodgers and Bob West.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary E. West.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 2, starting at 8 a.m. at Roller-Swift Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to service time. Funeral service will be Friday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at Roller-Swift Funeral Home. Interment is in Ermen Cemetery. The funeral home will comply with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limit indoor funeral and visitations attendance to 100 people at one time. All attendees will provide and wear their own masks before entering.
