Jettie M. Miller was born Nov. 24, 1946, in Luxora, to Robert and Mattie Mabins Miller. Jettie was of the Baptist faith and attended Gospel Temple Baptist Church in Luxora under the pastorage of Reverend Michael McKinney. She received her bachelor’s degree from AM&N College in Pine Bluff in 1967 and taught in the Blytheville School District.

Jettie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mattie Miller, and two brothers, Linzell Miller and Solomon Rushing. On Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, Jettie passed away at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 73.

She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, James Miller of Erie, Pennsylvania, and Billy (Viola) Miller of Luxora; two sisters, Stephanie Williford of Chicago, Ill., and Charles Etta Freeman of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Linda Miller of Luxora and Estine Rushing of Chicago, Ill.; many nieces, nephews other family members and friends.

Private funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 19, at 12:00 noon at Gospel Temple Baptist Church, 424 College Street, Luxora. Pastor Michael McKinney is the eulogist and interment will follow at the Luxora City Cemetery.

A public walk-through visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10-11:30 a.m.

In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions social distancing will be required. Face masks are mandated to attend the visitation and funeral services.
