Jerry Junior Jackson, 75, of Gosnell, former Leachville resident, died early Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro. Born in Watervliet, Mich., and raised in Leachville, he was the son of the late Ira and Thelma Harrell Jackson and had attended Leachville High School. Jerry spent his life in law enforcement and served with several police departments throughout northeast Arkansas before joining the Arkansas State Highway Police. Following his retirement in 2005, he enjoyed collecting coins and online auctions. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Dearl Weatherford and Jason Jackson, and one brother, Larry Jackson.

Jerry is survived by two sons, William Henry Jackson of Bono and Michael Stephan Jackson of Jonesboro; one daughter, Jerry Tyler and husband, Timothy of Pineville; one brother, Steve Jackson and wife, Terri of Hot Springs; one sister, Myra Brimhall of Leachville. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. In compliance with state guidelines, the family has requested that face masks and strict social distancing be practiced at all times.
