Dorothy Jean Hanna, 91, of Luxora, passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at SMC Regional Medical Center in Osceola.

Dorothy was born in Detroit, Mich., to John and Susie Feezor Barch and was retired from the Arkansas Revenue Department in Osceola. She was a faithful member of the Luxora Church of Christ. Dorothy enjoyed gardening and putting up corn every year. She was a great cook known especially for divinity at Christmas. Even at 91 years old, Dorothy devotedly walked every day. Dorothy was a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother that especially adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Hanna, Sr.; her parents; two brothers, Paul and Phillip Barch; three sisters, Mary Miller, Sandra Ephlin and Patricia Caldwell; and granddaughter, Jayme Long.

Dorothy leaves four children, Gale Hanna, Jr. and his wife Dana of Searcy, Cherrie Scott and her husband Davie of Osceola, Karen Faries and her husband Ronnie of Tiptonville, Tenn., and Cathy Gist and her husband Darrell of Luxora; four brothers, Marvin Barch of Memphis, Joe Barch of Luxora, Norman Barch of Princeton, Texas, and David Barch of McKinney, Texas; one sister, Marth Barch of Memphis; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Barry Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 100 people will be allowed to gather inside of Cobb Funeral Home at one time and practice social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance between one another.
