Billy Harmon Holt, 69, of West Memphis passed away on Aug. 28, 2020, at Baptist – Desoto hospital in Southaven, Miss. He was born to Carsie and Lydia Holt in New Tazwell, Tenn., on Sept. 28, 1950. He was a member of the Marion Church of God.

He was a roofer all his adult life until his illness required him to retire. He loved to eat! In fact, his family said “he made the best tomato gravy!” He enjoyed cooking out on the grill. He used to like to fish. He also loved “going to the mountains” where he enjoyed the area and visiting with family there. He loved the western channel, John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies. Most days you could find him sitting on the porch, swatting flies, and talking to the neighbors that passed by. He was a social person and really enjoyed having conversations.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Hank Holt; and a daughter, Sondra Holt.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Brenda Curtis Holt, of the home; four daughters, Stacy Smith, of Memphis, Tenn., Wendy and Brian Langdon, of Blytheville, Crystal Curtis and Eric Haller, of Blytheville and Kim Smith of Memphis Tenn.; grandchildren: Haley “Little Feller” Langdon, Skyler “Little Man” Langdon, Alyssia “Girl” Cain, and Brody “Ginny” Cain; one sister, Mona Chittum, of New Tazwell Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Linda and Larry Tracy, of West Memphis; a special nephew, Tom Holt, of Harriman Tenn.; and other nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss him dearly.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, at Carney Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with Bro. Charles Tucker officiating. Visitation was Sunday 12:00-2:00 until service begins. Burial was in Carney Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at carneyfuneralhome.com.
