Charlene Rebecca Neal Jewell

Charlene Rebecca Neal Jewell, 57, of Jonesboro passed from this life Thursday, July 23, 2020, at the St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Memphis, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry Neal and was an employee of Sodexo USA in Jonesboro. Charlene had an adventurous spirit and flair for life, love and laughter that was contagious to all who knew her. She had simple taste and focused on spending quality time with her family and friends.  Family was everything to her; she had the most trusting heart and lived her life believing in the best in people and their ability to change for the better. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by two sisters, Janie Fay England and Jeanie Kay Abbott; and one brother, Carl Raymond Neal.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas Wayne Burgess of Belleview, Fla.; her daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Adam Carpenter of Davenport, Fla.; her mother, Ethel Curtis of Monette; one brother, Gary Wayne Neal of Monette; one sister, Linda Gean Dalton of Dexter, Mo.; three grandchildren, Noah Carpenter, Kaydence Carpenter and Carter Burgess. She also leaves her lifelong best friend Carol McFarlin and dear friend and family member Barbara Burgess.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Pastor Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Monette Memorial Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Andre Crite, Steven Ward, Blake Smithee, Brad Neal, Cody Neal and Dustin Carle. The family will receive visitors from noon until 1:30 at the funeral home. 

In compliance with Arkansas State Guidelines, attendance is limited and face masks are required.
