Bertha Mae Alexander

Bertha Mae Alexander of Blytheville was born Jan. 15, 1939, in Arkadelphia to the late Charlie Perry and the late Bertie Spearman Perry. She was a homemaker and seamstress and was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Alexander passed away on June 30, 2020, at the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 81. She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Perry; her mother, Bertie Spearman Perry; husband, Van Alexander; four brothers, Joe Charles Perry, Sr., Charles Perry, Lonnie Perry, Sr. and Leviticus “Sonny” Perry; and one sister, Mary Lee Perry.

She is survived by three stepdaughters, Joan McChristian of Mexico, Glenda Alexander of Indiana, and Glenda Davenport of California; one brother, Louis Perry of Blytheville; one sister, Annie Mae Hall of East St. Louis, Mo.; nine nephews and 15 nieces including her caregiver Anna Woodruff.

The visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville, with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m. Pastor Issac Johnson will be officiating. The burial will be held at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
