Frank Joel Ray was born Sept. 11, 1949 in Blytheville, to Abraham and Carrie Gallespie Ray. Frank was a graduate of Richard B. Harrison High School and attended Arkansas AM&N University in Pine Bluff. Frank served his country as a member of the United States Army and worked at Terra Chemical Company.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Emma Tipp. On Friday June 26, 2020, Frank passed away at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 70.

He leaves cherish his memories one son, Joel ( Shana) Ray of Plainfield, N.J.; two daughters, Ylanda Sampson of Newark, N.J., and Roelye (Todd) Ray-Hinds of Houston, Texas; four brothers, David Ray of Summit, Ill., Robert (Elizabeth) Ray of Kansas City, Mo., Richard Ray of Blytheville and George (Loretta) Ray of Cordova, Tenn.; one sister, Carrie Burkett of Kansas City, Mo.; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A walk-through visitation will be held from 5-6:25 p.m. Tuesday, June 30. At 6:30 p.m. Pastor Larry Guyton will offer the family words of encouragement.

Interment for Mr. Ray will be held Wednesday at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye.

In accordance with the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, the practice social distancing of 6-feet will be observed. Face masks are REQUIRED to be worn by all family and friends attending the walk-through visitation and the funeral service.
