Mount Calvary Powerhouse Church of Poplar Bluff partnered with Frontline Family Outreach Ministries, Morning Star M.B. Church and other local churches to distribute more than 1,300 fresh food boxes to the community.

Sherrie Clay, first lady of Morning Star in Blytheville, said, “Other pastors came to help in the food box giveaway. There were fresh fruits and fresh homegrown vegetables. This was the third time giving away these boxes and there have been around 1,300-1,500 boxes given to the community.”

Pastor Raymond Golphin of Frontline said, “We are just the hub set up here in Blytheville, and Bishop Ronnie Webb thought about our community and not just Missouri. He organized all of this and we are just the distributors for the dropping point during the pandemic in the city of Blytheville.”

Golphin continued,“My wife, pastor Mary Golphin, and my daughter Ramona helped get the word out via Facebook along with Bishop Sims, Pastor Whaley and a lot of members from surrounding churches took part in getting this food to the people.”

Pastor of Morning Star Frederick Clay added, “Under the umbrella of Bishop Ronnie Webb, and Pastors Raymond and Mary Golphin we are glad to be partnering with them to feed the community and give away these boxes, it brings joy in the midst of this ministry.”

Clay said despite the effects of COVID-19 the churches are still active in the community.

“People say that the church is closed but it is not. When you see ministry like this it lets you know that the church is still rolling. The community is a reflection of the church, so if the community is nothing then the church is not very much either,” said Clay.
