Elizabeth W."Dibby" Howell

Elizabeth W."Dibby" Howell, 80, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Minneapolis, Minn., she was the daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy Roberts Whiting and had been a Jonesboro resident since 2011. "Dibby", as she was known by her family and friends, was a 1957 graduate of Washburn High School in Minneapolis and attended the University of North Texas in Denton. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Mr. Robert "Buzzy" Howell who preceded her in death in 2004. Together they were longtime residents of Lovington, N.M., and Port Mansfield, Texas. One of her greatest pastimes was fishing with her late husband and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry Whiting and Bill Whiting.

She is survived by her son, Ron Howell of Midland, Texas; two daughters, Debbie Guthrie and husband Buddy of Jonesboro and Sandy Thorsen and husband, David of Missouri City, Texas. She also leaves six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
