Opal Charlene Parmenter

Opal Charlene Parmenter of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020. She was born in the house of her parents, Owen and Irene Hutcheson, in Lunsford community, Lake City. She was born prematurely with the doctor saying he wouldn’t even give her a birth certificate unless she survived three days. Well, she survived 77 years.

The oldest of six children, she leaves behind three brothers, Harold, Timothy and Thomas, as well as two sisters, Delores and Donna. She’s the mother of three children, the oldest Charlene Meshelle, Landis Wayne, Jr., and youngest Lisa Elizabeth, and six grandchildren, Cassie, Rebecca, Landis, Terry Wayne, Christal and Aaron. She also has 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her current husband, Michael Parmenter.

Charlene was a strong, independent woman that enjoyed life on her terms. She will be missed by all that knew her.
