Jimmy “Jim” Handy

Jimmy “Jim” Handy, 73, of Cherokee Village, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020, at White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born July 4, 1946, in Gadsden, Ala., to Jim and Myrtle (Ramsey) Lee. He was retired from Roach Conveyors and was a member of the United States National Guard. In his life, Jim enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Myrtle, and one son, Rodney Lee.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Carr) Handy; son, Thomas William (Angie) Handy; daughter, Kim (Anthony) Handy Cossey; grandchildren, Jacob (Beth) Handy, Sarah (Beau) Williams and Justin Handy; great-grandson, Levi Handy; and sister, Wanda Thacker of Gadsden.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 14, at 3:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Randall Perkey officiating. Burial services will follow.

CDC guidelines requiring social distancing of six feet will be in practice.
