Water line break closes down part of Ruddle

Motorists are asked to avoid the 900 block of North Ruddle as crews repair a water line break.

According to Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson, vehicles will not be able to turn from Moultrie and travel south on Ruddle and will not be able to travel any farther north on Ruddle than Parkside and Tennessee.

Blytheville Mayor James Sanders said a 10-inch water line break occurred Friday on North Ruddle Road at Moultrie.

"The water company is currently working to assess the problem and determine what is necessary to fix it," Sanders said in an email to members of the Blytheville City Council. "It's my hope that they can fix it with little trouble but when I was there it looked bad. As you are aware this area was checked prior to the work being done on Ruddle Road and the only problem identified then was a drainage problem that you allowed to be fixed. This was very unexpected. This road project is in its final stage and AR Dot is scheduled to stripe it next week. We will keep you updated now that the whole has been opened up."
