Police asking for the public's help in solving slaying

Blytheville Police Department investigators are encouraging the public to come forward with information on Saturday night's slaying of 27-year-old Demarcus Daniels on Tennessee Street.

According to BPD assistant police chief Ricky Jefferson, police have no suspects at this time in the fatal shooting.

Jefferson said around 9:42 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to the 400 block of Tennessee to investigate the shooting.

"Upon arrival at the scene officers discovered a male subject, later found to be named Demarcus Daniels, 27 years of age, suffering from a gunshot wound," Jefferson said. "Pafford Ambulance Service transported Daniels to the Great River Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. Suspect(s) are unknown at this time."
