Blytheville teen killed in accident

A 16-year-old Blytheville girl was killed in an accident in Dunklin County, Mo., Thursday afternoon, on Highway NN, two miles north of the Arkansas state line, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The report said the driver, a 16-year-old Gosnell girl, and passenger 19-year-old Kyle Spears of Caruthersville were flown to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis with serious injuries, while passenger 17-year-old Darreonau Foreman was flown to Lebonheur in Memphis with serious injuries.

According to the report, the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned.

The 16-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:40 p.m., Thursday.

The names of the driver and 16-year-old passenger have not been released.
