Temporary limit of new clients due to COVID-19

Saturday, March 28, 2020

On Tuesday, March 21, The Mississippi County Union Mission board of directors made the tough decision to temporarily not accept any new clients for the time being.

A news release read, "We realize the homeless shelter is a safe haven for those who are suffering due to housing loss or other emergencies. It pains us to have to turn anybody away, but as many businesses and locations around Mississippi County are practicing social distancing, The Mission is as well. However, The Mission is still open! Since our heart is for the community, the Mission is continuing the daily lunch meals and weekly food box program. The Mission is hopeful to receive additional funding that will allow us the capacity to continue to feed the community during these perilous times. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is affected by this crisis."
