Arkansas Northeastern College: COVID-19 UPDATE

Arkansas Northeastern College executive staff has been in communication daily and meeting regularly to monitor the COVID-19 crisis and to plan for future operations of ANC and its classes. The safety and wellbeing of ANC students, staff, and the public are of paramount consideration.

There are still no confirmed cases of CVOID-19 on the Arkansas Northeastern College campus at this time. However, as a cautionary method, the College is continuing to close the campus to the general public from Monday, March 30, 2020, through Sunday, April 5, 2020.

For the immediate future, the following has been determined:

Spring Commencement exercises scheduled for May 15 has been postponed to a future date yet to be determined. However, a Commencement event for our 2020 graduates WILL be held at the earliest feasible date.

Online classes will continue as scheduled.

All “live” courses that can be converted to online/remote delivery have been converted or are in the process of being converted. Students will resume study in these courses on March 30.

Some applied courses, such as certain Allied Health and Allied Technologies classes, are converting parts of the work to online, while other parts do not lend themselves to online/remote delivery. The Allied Health Division will utilize simulation to the greatest extent available with live clinical rotations resuming in coordination with ANC healthcare partners. Once the campus resumes limited public access, the remaining parts of these Allied Health and Allied Technologies courses will be taught “live” to SMALL Groups, utilizing social distancing recommendations, additional sanitization, and other precautionary methods to keep students and instructors safe. This will not likely occur before the end of the semester. The live instruction will be offered and completed to establish a course grade as soon as possible with no additional costs for students.

ANC executive staff will continue to monitor the situation daily and will post updates to the ANC website, the ANC APP, and other official ANC social media.
