Shirley Smith Mouton

Shirley Smith Mouton, 64, of Blytheville went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at her home. She was born Nov. 23, 1955 in Reeds, Mo., and was the daughter of J.P. and Mary Rogers Smith. Shirley was of the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher and sang in the choir. She was a dedicated employee at MCAEOC Head Start working at the Robert Wiley Head Start Center in the infant-toddler classroom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Jesse Junearick, sister-in-law Lorene Smith, and niece April McKinney.

Shirley leaves to forever cherish her memories her husband, Charles Mouton, Jr. of the home; sons, Chavis (Alyncia Elliott) Spann of Blytheville and Deon Mouton also of Blytheville, Charles (Crystal) Mouton III of Memphis, Tenn., Tye Luster of Jonesboro and Sherrell Buckley of Little Rock; daughters, Deitress (Chad) Stewart of Blytheville, Catrina ( Daniel) Evans of Memphis, Tenn., Trinket (Rico) Edwards of Roswell, Texas, and Tiffany Mouton of Blytheville; brothers, Pastor M.L. (Ellen) Smith, Sylvester (Diane) Smith, John Henry (Minnie) Smith all of Gosnell, Tommy Lee (Cora) Smith of Blytheville and J.P. Smith, Jr., also of Blytheville; sisters, Dorothy Junearick, Rose (Frederick) Wilson and Angelia (Arthur) Pointer, all of Blytheville; brother-in-law, Carl Mouton of Little Rock; sister-in-law, Cabrina Campbell of Philadelphia, Penn.; 19 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 20, from 5-7 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 920 South Lake Street, Blytheville, where Reverend Bobby Patterson serves as pastor.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 21, at 12 noon at Prince of Peace Church, 501 East McHaney Street, where Minister Terrell Rogers is the pastor. Pastor Tim Rogers will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
