Wayne Lewis

Wayne Lewis, 99, of Blytheville, passed from this life Thursday, March 12, 2020, at Gosnell Therapy and Living Center.

Wayne was born to William and Hertha Lewis in Marmaduke. He was an insurance salesman, and after retirement was the election coordinator for the Mississippi County Election Commission for many years. Wayne served his country with honor in the United States Army Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II, and was involved in the Air Force Community Council.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eithel Lewis; his parents; son, Jacky Garrett; two brothers, Victor and Bobby Lewis; and two sisters, Lavern Cole and Willodean Lewis.

Wayne leaves two daughters, Patty Garrett of the home, who lovingly cared for him over the last few years, and Leah McCord and her husband Terry of McKinney, Texas; three grandsons, Michael, Scott and Derek, who loved their Dee very much; and the group of men he had coffee with every morning at Hardee’s.

A gathering of Wayne’s friends will be held Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. He will have a private burial. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
