Jack Adkisson, 96, of the Forty & Eight/Hickman Community, passed peacefully from this life Monday, March 9, 2020, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Jack was born to R.L. “Luby” Adkisson and Imogene Perry Adkisson. His parents settled here in the early 1900s, and Jack was a lifelong area resident and a retired farmer. In his more active years, Jack enjoyed fishing, traveling, tinkering with old cars and visiting with his farming friends on the turn row.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Opal Henson Adkisson, and his parents.

Jack is survived by his son, Jimmy Adkisson of the home; one brother, Perry L. Adkisson of Bryan, Texas; his special caregiver, Stacy Cagle of Armorel; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 16, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Welch officiating. Entombment will follow in Dogwood Mausoleum. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
