Betty Jo Blocker, 83, of Jonesboro, widow of Floyd Blocker, passed from this life, Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Little Rock to the late Duford and Norvell Mason Laffoon, she was raised in Leachville and was a 1955 graduate of Leachville High School. She had lived much of her life in the Elaine area and had also spent several years in Stuttgart before moving to Jonesboro two years ago. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lambrook.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Maurice Blocker; two brothers, Damon Laffoon and Ronnie Laffoon; and a sister, Mary Towell.

She is survived by her nieces, Stephanie Laffoon, Shelia Spurlock, Melinda Smith, Donna Helms, and nephews, Mark Laffoon, Steve Laffoon, Scott Syferd, Curtis Towell, and D.J. Towell. Betty also leaves many other nieces and nephews from the Blocker family.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. The family will receive visitors Saturday evening from 6 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
