William Aubry Sandage

Tuesday, March 3, 2020

William Aubry Sandage, 59, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020, at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. William, better known as Bill or Billy Bob, was a man who in so many ways was larger than life, a man with a booming voice, a strong will and an enormous heart. He was a hard worker, a father and friend. Most of all, he was a man who appreciated the simpler things in life, and taught us to do the same.

Bill was a happy-go-lucky guy who would literally give someone the shirt off his back. He enjoyed scraping and loved a good find. He loved the outdoors, fishing in his favorite spot or picking up pecans. He was never one to sit still very long, and always had to be doing something.

He was preceded in death by parents, Raymond (Pete) and Virginia (Fraze) Sandage, and two brothers, Randall Sandage and Randy Sandage.

Bill leaves behind the love of his life and best friend of over 25 years, wife Deborah (Shelton) Sandage of Blytheville; three daughters, Cindy Sandage and Haylee Holbrooks, both of Blytheville, and April Holbrooks of Cabot; six wonderful grandchildren; sister, Sandra Peterson of St. Louis, Mo.; brother, Anthony Sandage of Warner Robins, Ga.; two stepbrothers, Danny (Bethany) Chester and David Chester, both of Louisville, Ky.; two stepsisters, Sherryll (Darrell) Hale and Melissa (Frankie) Schmidt both of Louisville, Ky.; and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

There will be a memorial service for Bill at a later date.
