Samuel Gean Maupin

Samuel Gean Maupin, 75, of Benton, formerly of Blytheville, died Feb. 13, 2020, at home. He was born Jan. 15, 1945, in Wilson. He was a former mechanic for Blytheville Public Schools Transportation Department. He loved to barbecue and go fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. Maupin and Estelle (Mccanless) Burchfield; a brother, David Maupin; a sister, Mary “Ann” Kennedy; and a niece Tammy Deason.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Maupin; three children, Roderick Maupin (Queona), Wanda "Wendy” Stewart (Danny), Stella Turner; three siblings, Eva Jane Byers (Alvin), Beverly Thorn (Grant), Phillip Maupin; three grandchildren, Ana Ingram (Dontavius), Spencer Crawford, Sawyer Crawford; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In accord with Sam’s wishes, there will be no public funeral services, but messages of condolences can be left at Smith Benton Funeral Home, Benton.
