Quitman Larry “Sonny Boy” Cox, Sr.

Quitman Larry “Sonny Boy” Cox, Sr., 88, of Osceola, passed away Feb. 4, 2020. He was born March 10, 1931, to Jim and Zetter Cox. He was a United States Army veteran, retired from Delta Products Oil Mill and a self taught carpenter and upholsterer. He was a member of Keiser First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Rita Cox of Osceola; son, Larry (Phyllis) Cox of Blytheville; sister, Emma Jean (Bill) Allensworth of Proctor; granddaughter, Wendi (Robbie) Massey of Armorel; great- grandchildren, Andrew Dylan (Caitlin Reese) Massey of Armorel and Malachi Christian Massey of Armorel; great-great-granddaughter, Harlee Grace Massey of Armorel; and his beloved pet “Sassy”.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cox; parents; sisters, Hazel Vance, Katherine Falcon, Lottie Fair and Diann Cox Lyles; brother, James F. Cox, and sister-in-law, Catherine Cox.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Roller-Swift Funeral Home, with graveside service to follow at 1 p.m. at Mississippi County Memorial Gardens.
