Mary Johnson Wright, 87, of Manila, widow of Lonnie Wright, passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Leachville to the late Frank and Maggie Trusty Johnson, she was raised in the Pawheen community and later graduated from Leachville High School. A lifelong area resident, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manila and had worked for the former Brown Shoe Company and Milwaukee Tool Company. Following her retirement she enjoyed reading, activities at the Manila Sr. Citizens Center and attending events for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Myrtle Lyerly, Dorothy Brooks and Olean Hicks.

Survivors include one son, Lonnie Ray Wright (Kathleen) of Jacksonville, Fla.; one daughter, Treasa Costner (Craig) of Henderson; four grandchildren, Kesha Smith (Matt), Kaci Bell (Becton), Chelsea Wright (David), and Camille Wright; four great-grandchildren, Ty Wagner, Costner Smith, Hadleigh Bell, and Mary Whitley Bell. She also leaves two sisters, Willadean Ott and Patsy Simon, both of Arnold, Mo.

The family will receive visitors Saturday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. A private family graveside service will follow in Manila Cemetery with Dr. Matt Pryor and Rev. Jeff Dial officiating. Friends may sign the online guest register at www.HowardFuneralService.com.
