Jimmie R. Cage, 77, of Blytheville passed away quietly at her home on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019. She was born April 7, 1942, in Blytheville and was the daughter of Jim and Fannie Jones Wallace. Jimmie was a graduate of Richard B. Harrison High School, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (formerly AM&N) receiving her Bachelors’ Degree and Arkansas State University where she graduated with her Masters’ Degree. Jimmie spent her professional career as a teacher and librarian in the Blytheville School District. She was a lifelong member of First Missionary Baptist Church as well as a member of the Blytheville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

She is survived by her loving and devoted son and fiance Ted C. Cage, Jr. (Tracey Thompson) of the home; one granddaughter, Tekyra Cage of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, Dec. 21, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 600 East McHaney Street where Reverend Odale Jones is the pastor. Reverend Jay Slaughter will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at First Missionary Baptist Church.
