Deloris Charlene Burke

Mrs. Deloris Charlene Burke of South Fulton, Tenn., passed away on Nov. 2, 2019 at the Van Ayer Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Martin, Tenn. Mrs. Burke was born Nov. 24, 1927 in Leachville to the late Ernest Clyde Hawkins and Ethel Vivian Dickinson Hawkins. She had been a member of the Smith Street Church of Christ in South Fulton since 1966 and was a retired production worker for the former Ferry Morse Seed Company.

She is survived by a son, Dennis C. Burke (Susan) of Cottontown, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Emily Nicole Burke and Samantha Lea Burke, both of Cottontown, Tenn.; two sisters, Dorothy Staniszewski (Ray) of South Fulton, Tenn., and Judy Richard (Ron) of Benton, Ky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard T. Burke, whom she married April 11, 1951; a son Richard, “Stoney” Burke, and two brothers, Melvin Hawkins and J.W. Hawkins.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel with Bro. Randy Brown officiating. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Leachville Cemetery in Leachville. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday.
