Hamil L. Million

Hamil L. Million, 88, of Jonesboro passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Hamil was born June 26, 1931, in Pocahontas to the late Amburs and Mary Ella Wagner Million. He retired after 37 years with Ark-Mo Power and Entergy. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Cardinal baseball, and most of all loving on his grand kids. He was a deacon at Monette First Baptist Church for many years before moving to Jonesboro, where he became a member at Central Baptist Church. Hamil was loved by all who knew him, and gave freely to his community and his church. He was a mentor to a number of men, and a great coach to many boys.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley McMillon Million; his children and their spouses, Sharon (Kevin) Howell of Jacksonville, N.C., Karen (Johnny) Webb of Dolph, Ginger (Terry) Barrett and Lanny (Sharon) Million of Jonesboro; a sister, Virginia Hogan of Pocahontas; nine grandchildren, Julie, Kelly, John, Chad, Heather, Kevin, Deanna, Alan, and Preston; 17 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother and five sisters.

A celebration of his life will be held Monday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m. at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence Memorial Park Cemetery in Walnut Ridge.

The family received friends for visitation from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are his grandsons and nephews, and as honorary pallbearers former Entergy employees and members of the McDonald Life Group at Central Baptist Church.
