Emily Dawn Loftin McDonald, 37, of the Red Onion community near Cardwell, formerly of Leachville, passed from this life Friday, Sept. 27, 2019, at her home. Born in Jonesboro and raised in Leachville, she was a 2000 graduate of Blytheville High School and graduated from Arkansas State University in 2004, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Emily had a devout love for all animals, especially her dogs, and was a member of Cockrum Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ralph Loftin, her maternal grandfather, Donald Wrather, and two special cousins, Melissa Meeker and Whitney Law.

Survivors include her husband of 15 years, Brian McDonald of the home; her father, Joe Daniel Loftin (Sunny) of Jonesboro; her mother, Terrie LaDonna Wrather Kennett (Don) of Leachville; her paternal grandmother, Juanita Loftin of Cardwell; her maternal grandmother, Rosalee Wrather of Blytheville; two brothers, Daniel Loftin of Jonesboro and Curtis Kennett of West Point, Miss.; her sister, Sarah Bolt of Fayetteville. She also leaves special cousins, Julie Hughes and Jessica Law, and a special aunt, Shelly Bush.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Danny Boggs and Eddie Dunigan officiating. The family will receive visitors Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
