Linda Ray, 71, of Blytheville passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born Feb. 3, 1948, in West Helena and was the daughter of James and Mattie Springfield Oliver. Linda was a graduate of Elijah Miller High School in West Helena and received her bachelor’s degree from Arkansas State University. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and playing spades.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, James Oliver, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Richard Ray of the home; one daughter, Ondreia Ray of Blytheville; one son, Darrell (Serena) Ray of Denver, Colo.; one brother, Wesley Oliver of West Helena; five grandchildren, Amber Ray, Xavier Ray, Tyler Ray, Collin Ray, and Zahara Ray; one great-grandson, Aiden Ojeda, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, from 5-7 p.m. at McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, Sept. 13, at noon in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home. Elder Henry Brown will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

McDonald-Horne Funeral Home is in charge of all services and arrangements.
