Nola Mae Howard
Nola Mae Howard was born in Byhalia, Miss., to Emmitt Benson and Katie Benson.
Nola, departed this life on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, at her home in Blytheville, Ark., at the age of 101.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Eugene Howard; her parents, Emmitt and Katie Benson; her son, Alvorn Howard; and two daughters, Doris Allen and Gloria Howard.
Nola accepted Christ at an early age at Newell Chapel in Byhalia, Miss. She moved to Arkansas where she met and married Peter Eugene Howard. She was a member of St Paul Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Margaret Brazzeal of Houston, Texas, and Beulah Hodge (William) of Sacramento, Calif.; two sons, Eugene Howard Jr. of Blytheville and Rev. Jessie Benson of Memphis, Tenn.; a special granddaughter, Asia Birdsong of Blytheville. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 -11:55 a.m. at St. Paul Church. Service will follow at noon. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, minister Scotty Brazzeal officiating.
